Frank Heemskerk
Frank Heemskerk (born 1969) has served as the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade since 2007.
Frank Heemskerk graduated in Economics at the University of Amsterdam, went on to work for ABN AMRO as an analyst in the Economics Department, for Corporate Global Clients, and subsequently as Division Secretary to the Managing Board. He was vice president at ABN AMRO Asset Management (2001-03), in which capacity he was responsible for institutional clients in the Middle East.
From 2003 to 2006 Frank Heemskerk was a Member of Parliament for the Labour Party (PvdA) and was spokesman on health care reform, competition and financial markets. He has also co-edited a book on ageing in the Netherlands. Frank Heemskerk is married, and father of one daughter and one son.
