Driving long-term profitability by going beyond auditing
Customers and stakeholders expect responsible companies to promote the rights and welfare of workers in their supply chains. What are the best strategies to do this and what are the benefits to the business? The general consensus is that while social audits are a necessary tool companies must also “go beyond audit” to develop credible ethical trading programmes. This workshop will focus on innovative news ways to do this and why leading companies see it as in their interest to do so.
Using current case studies of new approaches in ethical trade this workshop will consider
• What are companies doing to maximise their social impacts?
• What are the benefits to workers and businesses?
• What do these experiences teach us about more effective and sustainable approaches to Ethical Trade?
The workshop will include multiple presentations, each drawing on case studies and research and participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussion.
Confirmed speakers:
Dan Rees, Director Ethical Trade Initiative
Pam Batty, Head of Code of Conduct Next PLC
Stefanie Miltenburg, International CSR Director Sara Lee
